1. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park

  1. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park is located in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana state in India.
  2. It is also known as KBR National Park.
  3. The park was named after Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (now divided into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) from 1964 to 1971.
  4. In 1994, it was established as a national park.
  5. In 1998, the park was officially designated as a national park by the Government of India.
  6. Area: Park covers an area of approximately 390 acres (1.58 square kilometers).
  7. Hills: Park is located in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad.
  8. River: The park itself doesn’t have a river flowing through it. It is situated near the Musi River.
  9. Flora: 600 species of plants, several insectivorous plants (Drosera flycatcher plant) etc.
  10. Fauna: Spotted Deer, Indian Hare, Indian Palm Squirrel, Pangolin, Small Indian Civet, Indian Roller, Black Drongo, Indian cobra, Monitor Lizard, Indian Garden Lizard etc.



2. Mrugavani National Park

  1. Mrugavani National Park is located in the Ranga Reddy District of Telangana, India.
  2. In 1994, Mrugavani National Park was established.
  3. Area: Park covers an area of approximately 3.6 square kilometers (1.4 sq mi) or 1211 acres.
  4. Flora: Teak, Bamboo, Neem, Sandalwood, Banyan, Tamarind etc.
  5. Fauna: Spotted Deers,, Sambar, Indian Hare, Wild Boar, Flower Pecker, Lapwings, Russell’s Viper, Monitor Lizard, Python, King Cobra etc.



3. Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park

  1. The Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park is located at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad, Telangana.
  2. It is named after Mahavir, the 24th Jain Tirthankara, and “Harina” refers to deer in Sanskrit.
  3. The national park was established with the aim of protecting the endangered blackbuck species, which is the state animal of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
  4. In 1975, the government of Andhra Pradesh declared the area as a wildlife sanctuary.
  5. In 1994, the sanctuary was upgraded to the status of a national park.
  6. Area: Park covers an area of approximately 14.59 square kilometers (5.633 square miles).
  7. Flora: Sandalwood, rosewood, palas, amalthas, albizzias, acacias, teak,Grasses, Shrubs and Bushes etc.
  8. Fauna: Blackbucks , Porcupines, Indian Hare, Indian Gray Mongoose, Wild Boar, Short-toed Eagles, Indian Pond Herons, Water Monitors etc.
